Site Description
There were originally two separate but adjacent stations at Queen's Quay, one for the BH&BR line to Bangor and the other for the B&CDR. Eventually the two became one and combined stations by means of knocking an archway in the wall between the two. The station closed in 1976 when Belfast Central (Lanyon Place) opened, with Central Service Depot being built on the site.
Due to the need to complete a road network through Belfast, the Cross Harbour Line opened in 1994 allowed the extension of York Road works to accommodate the functions undertaken by CSD, which then closed and was demolished to complete the road. No trace remains of the station remains, but the Cross Harbour line crosses over the site of the platforms, albeit at a higher level than the original station.
